So now I am at a loss. After researching dog foods I had decided to go with Innova since the ratings were really great and there is a pet boutique right by my house that carries it. They gave me a free bag and I got coupons send to me from the Natura company. So all was good then I saw Procter and Gamble bought them out. UGH! I had planned on getting Wellness puppy before Innova but then saw they were also bought out by some big company. I am thinking of trying the Chicken Soup dog food that I see some people on here use. Only problem is there is not a store very close to my house that has it. It seems every dog food out there has some sort of issue with it. Crappy by products(anything at Petsmart or grocery store pretty much), too much protein (Orejen supposed to be great but they say a lot of protein and hard on puppies), too much grain or bad sourc of grain, or imports from oversees etc etc....And the ones that look the best were bought out by the companies that sell the crappy food?What to choose?

Awww....you will get so many comments. Here's mine. Go raw. Check out raw meaty bone diet. My Lucy has been raised on chicken thighs, eggs and fish oil capsules with some organ meat thrown in from time to time. Lucy is solid muscle and about 14-1/2 lbs. You have to get past the yuck factor tho. But you do. Even my 17 yr old squeamish daughter will now feed the dogs if she's home at dinner time and I'm not. Did you check out the dealer locator on the Chicken soup website? That's how I found out who sold it in my area?

I switched Klaus from Eukanuba to Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul. Not only does he LOVE it, but I noticed a difference in his coat after the first week.

Good food makes a huge difference! I'll likely stick with CSftPLS from here on out. Well, until they get bought out by a huge company.

Okay, thanks. I will probably go with Chicken Soup then. I emailed them and they are sending me samples. They have 2 feed stores about 20 min away from me that carry it.

I drive about 20 minutes to get my Chicken Soup. I buy a big bag and then it lasts a long time. Hope it works for you. I think it is excellent dogfood.

Okay, I got the chicken soup today and gave her just a little with her regular food. She likes it! It is similar in smell and looks just like her other food (purina pro plan). I had a couple free wellness puppy samples too and opened those up and that dog food Stinks horribly (like fish oil pills). I threw those out.
Chicken soup smells normal so I am happy and it was not very expensive either.

I'm right there with Catfish. I had them on Eukanuba and changed to Chicken Soup. They love it! However, now that they are all over a year, I needed to get them on an adult food. I talked to the pet store guy and he recommended Merrick's Whole Earth Farms. It has 5% less crude fat than the puppy Chicken Soup. They love it too!!!

I've heard lots of good things about the Blue Buffalo products as well.
